Ramkund & nearby places - my experience

点评：Visited Ramkund to perform rituals. The whole area is well kept. No issue on availability of pundits. Pundit was good for me, though a bit expensive. But he explained the meaning of the ritual well and was amiable. The beautiful Godavari river is flowing bountiful, graceful and nicely in a warm & pleasant sun shine. Nearby is Godavari devi temple, again another Godavari temple that opens once in 12 years for the Kumbh mela. I am told that the next Kumbh mela in Nashik is in 2027. Also, nearby is the Kapalishwar temple, a bit steep to climb but not very difficult. Alternately, there is side access with only slope and very few steps to climb and reach the temple. There is also the beautiful temple of 'Kalaram'. It's ancient, so well carved structures, clean, architecturally beautiful and with an air of serenity. There are also, Sita gufa, Goraram temple, Lord Subrahmanya temple resembling the idol of Palani Subrahmanya and others. All these are within walkable distance and would take about an hour by walk. Keeping a guide will help one understand the area better. Ramkund is a very sacred place where Sri Ram spent considerable time. The area is also known as Panchvati. Hope it's useful.
