Animals very good, people meh. Do it for the experience.
Kaziranga National Park的点评
点评：everyone who is local of Guwahati including our driver, the staff at the hotel and staff at the restaurant we ate told us even before we began that Pobitora was better than this but we had already booked online so we went. The booking was done from kazirangabooking.com. When we reached hotel and saw some other people getting into safari jeeps we asked these guys to send a pick up for us in the early morning. They said they don’t do pick ups. Apparently if you go through the hotel or directly call the safari guys and not through these online agents you get picked up at the hotel. Anyways, we went with our car and there inwards it was just admiring efforts taken to maintain sanctity of the jungle and things like that but nothing more. A few sightings of rhinos and elephants. The safari with jeep itself doesn’t take you deep into kaziranga. They finish it in 1hr30mins round trip. So you can imagine how much you can actually see when you can see only animals in the peripheral part of the park. Overall we were happy to see the efforts and rhinos in natural glory but disappointed that govt doesn’t allow deeper excursions for the full day to allow for better sightings.
By the way the elephant safari isn’t as exciting as you think. Apparently they take very long time to walk through the grown grass path and so you see only wild life that’s nearby. Jeep safaris take you in deep but they have the much traded path and could scare away more elusive wild life. It’s a choice.
