A rich immersive experience in a fascinating cypress swamp

点评：We took the "Take a Walk through the Wilderness: Everglades Jetport Wet Walk" with guide Albert. It was an excellent experience getting an intimate experience with the cypress dome and swamp. Albert clearly knows this place well, loves it deeply, and is a font of interesting tales about the animals and plants, the indigenous people, the fight to stop the building of the Jetport and more. We ended up talking long beyond our scheduled tour time.
This is an "immersive" experience. The entire walk was wading in water that ranged from ankle to over the knee depth and it is occasionally a bit mucky so take their warning seriously about wearing shoes and pants that can get soaked and muddy. But don't let that scare you off. On a sunny day with temperatures in the lower 80s the water and air both felt great.
