点评：I travelled back in September (bit late reviewing, sorry!) to fulfil a lifelong dream. Booked four days to swim with the whales. Definitely book more than one day as you will want more/it’s good to account for weather or the types of interaction you have with the whales. This is nature after all. Whale comfort was first and foremost, as well as our safety. It’s wonderful to be able to do such an amazing activity ethically. The crew are awesome and clearly have a wealth of experience! This is a family/women-run business with a lot of passion and knowledge of the whales. Guides Lusi and Lahaina were amazing…they know so much about the whales and were great at getting us swimming with them. Lusi even took some beautiful photos/videos of us on our swim, which we were so grateful for! I was picked up and dropped off from my accommodation, you are fed/watered on the boats and given a fair opportunity to have interactions with the whales. Be warned that to get the most out of the experience you should be a confident swimmer and be able to use a snorkel. Be prepared to move because to keep up with the whales you have to swim quite hard at times, so you will be gettint a good workout! Plus you will be on a boat for most of the day, and if you’re on their smaller boat then you will not be dry until you get back to your accommodation. The only downside was that communication a few months in advance to organise the swims was inconsistent. Being an anxious person I wanted to ask a lot of questions and have reassurances about payments, etc, and not having messages replied to made the process more tense than I would like. But that was a small thing compared to everything else that was wonderful. I would most certainly do this again and Deep Blue deserve the support/business! Thank you to everyone – Lusi, Soa, Aquari, Kiu, Lahaina, Latu, Lea, Siale and Joel - for giving a fantastic experience and looking after our groups. An unforgettable time in the Kingdom of Tonga!
