点评:It was quite a connection with public transportation from the Shinsaibashi area of Osaka but it was well worth the trip to visit Katsuo-ji Temple in the Mino district. It is definitely a good idea to check the schedule of the connections to make sure you allow enough time in between as there is quite a bit of time lapse in between the connections. Fortunately with Google maps, we were able to check the exact timings of the bus and subway connections. I must say that the timing is quite accurate and precise for public transportation in Japan.
The Bus #29 Ao Danchi line runs with a very limited schedule- more than a 1/2 hour wait if you miss it but once you get on, it is a direct ride to Katsuo-ji Temple within 40 minutes.
Make sure you bring along cash (yen) as that is the only accepted form of payment for entrance. The colorful Lego darumas greet you at the door upon entering.
Once you enter the grounds, you will see tons of colorful red darumas (popular good luck charms) in various sizes and both eyes colored that are spread all around the temple grounds from people who have returned their darumas back as their wish(es) have been granted.
This is a very unique place to visit as the darumas are spread around on the tree branches, sides of the temples, on the staircases, lanterns, and grounds.
You may also purchase a daruma, design/paint it and bring it home with you. A very unique place with tons of different sizes of bright crimson red darumas from people who have their wish(es) fullfilled leave their darumas to return to a resting place here at the Katsuo-ji Temple. We went in the summer and it was nice and pleasant but I understand that during the fall, the colors of the leaves on the trees are quiet vibrant with brilliant changing colors. Well worth a visit here if you have more than a 1/2 day in Osaka free to venture in these outskirts.
