点评:This is the first time we've come across a church dedicated to St Dubricius and, having looked him up I've found that he was a 6th century Briton who was a scholar, a teacher of Welsh saints, a healer and a founder of monasteries. Anyway, the first thing you notice about this 13th century church is its 'missing' spire. This was damaged in 1703 (during the 'Great Storm' [a cyclone which hit central and southern England on 26 November 1703]) and, although the church was restored in the 19th century, its spire was not replaced. Inside, although there is a quiet, contemplative atmosphere, the church appears to look over-filled with items. There's memorials on the walls and a 15th century font but there's also a very interesting tomb which looks out of place here and would seem to be more at home in a Cathedral. This is the tomb of the 4th Lord Harington and his wife, Elizabeth. Although this church might look 'cluttered', it's a little gem and it's well worth having a look at if you are in, or driving through, Porlock.
