点评:You’ll get from multiple other reviews that Lake Louise and Morraine Lake are both beautiful and crowded, and you should try to (win the lottery to) get a shuttle - earlier in the day being better. What few have written about is shuttle logistics other than ARRIVE EARLY! We read online and heard from locals scary warnings about ‘better get there before at least an hour early, maybe 2, or the lot may be full!’ That’s the last thing anyone wants to happen. So on a Monday in August (8/25) with a 7:00 am shuttle time, we left Canmore around 5am and arrived in the ski hill parking lot at ~6:15am to find the lot … mostly EMPTY! There is room for several hundred cars in a sprawling lot and we were in the first row. Being too early to check in for our shuttle, we were happy to find the ski lodge open for coffee, breakfast and bathrooms. After taking advantage of those, we were able to check in at a tent with absolutely no line at all and board our bus. When it left at 7:00 sharp the lot was still mostly empty. We returned around noon and by then the lot had been full but it was now getting openings from people who had gone up and back. (It seemed a majority of people probably spend less than a hour at Lake Louise for a bunch of selfies and are done. And at about 8:45am our full size bus to Morraine had only 6(!) people onboard - so I guess the rest head back and create openings in the lot?) Of course time of day, day of the week and the season will have a huge impact, but all-in-all it was not nearly as challenging as we were lead to believe. If you don’t have a shuttle time, the small but not tiny pay parking lot at Lake Louise was mostly open when we arrived about 7:20am - room for maybe 30 cars? Also a note if anyone from shuttle management is reading this, you could get a lot more cars in the lot if you added staff IN the lot (stadium style) instead of just at the entrance. Most people left a meter or more between cars making for a lot of unused space.
