点评：We visited Lake Louise as part of a small group sunrise tour, arriving around 9am after an early morning visit to Moraine Lake. Lake Louise is truly iconic — that turquoise, tranquil lake you’ve seen countless times on social media. It’s absolutely worth visiting if you haven’t, and it’s no wonder many people return again and again.
That said, having just experienced the sunrise at Moraine Lake, we couldn’t help but feel a little underwhelmed. Lake Louise is noticeably busier, with buses and crowds making it difficult to find a quiet moment. There’s one café on site for coffee and light snacks, but the line was about 30 minutes, and with a captive audience, prices are steep — we paid nearly $40 for two coffees and pastries.
Despite the crowds, the lake itself is stunning, and we decided to tackle the Fairview Trail to the lookout point. Our guide estimated it at 50 minutes, but what wasn’t clear was just how steep it would be — a near-constant incline! It was tough, but the reward at the top was spectacular: a bird’s-eye view of the lake and Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, revealing the lake’s vivid turquoise waters from a perspective you can’t get at ground level.
Overall, Lake Louise is beautiful, but plan to arrive early if you want to avoid the crowds. If you’re doing both Moraine Lake and Lake Louise in one day, consider visiting Moraine first — we found it quieter and more magical, which slightly tempered the impact of Lake Louise for us.
