Disappointing Visit: Cold Water, Closed Rides, and Extra Charges

点评：I visited the American Dream Water Park recently, and unfortunately the experience didn’t justify the high price. Two out of the three jacuzzis were closed due to lack of staff, which forced everyone into a single hot tub and made it extremely overcrowded. Several rides were also shut down—again, seemingly because of staffing shortages—which limited what guests could actually enjoy.
Safety was questionable too. When we first arrived, we saw several kids slipping on the wet floors near the entrance. We also found it frustrating that we couldn’t purchase tickets on-site and were required to buy them online on our phones, which felt unnecessarily inconvenient.
Another major disappointment was that half of the main swimming pool was closed, so only a portion was available to use. The section that was open had noticeably cold water, which made it uncomfortable.
The locker room situation also needs attention. There are no hairdryers available, which is surprising for a water park of this size. The showers had very cold water at first. Mine finally warmed up after about five minutes, but my girlfriend’s shower never got warm—she only had cold water the entire time. For the price they charge, basic amenities like warm showers should not be an issue.
The additional fees were the final downside. Lockers cost $25 on top of the $70 entrance fee, which felt unreasonable. Towels aren’t provided, and purchasing one costs around $35—pretty outrageous for a place that already charges premium admission.
The park has potential, but the overall experience didn’t match the cost. With proper staffing, improved amenities, better safety, and fewer unnecessary upcharges, it could be a great attraction. As it stands, it simply doesn’t offer good value for the price.
