Suntory Kyoto Brewery的点评
点评：When one thinks of Suntory factory tours, one thinks of the whiskey tour in Yamazaki, but relatively close by, there is the beer factory tour in Nagaokakyo.
Ticket prices are ¥1,000 per person. That includes the full tour of the facility and 3 beers. Not sample sizes, but 3 glasses of beer. Do not go there by car, or you won't get the beer. There is a bus to the nearest JR train station. It's about a 10-minute walk to the Hankyu train station.
The tour: it is in Japanese only, but if you have a smartphone, they have an AI translation software connected to the tour guide's microphone. There is a delay, and the translation sometimes is not correct, but you get a gist of the tour.
You can have a taste test of the barley, go inside the mashing room (where they make the wort) see the canning and packaging department. Learn about the beer taste testers. It was worth it.
Then you go to the tasting gallery. You are limited to 3 drinks. You can choose from their ale, premium, and darker beers. If you want to pour your own, you can.
Both Suntory factory tours are great experiences. Unique, reasonably priced, and a great time to be had.
