点评：We hired an excellent boat handler for two long trips (reviewed elsewhere) and were totally satisfied. The final day, at the guide’s suggestion, we signed up for a night snorkel trip to see the “light from underwater” (bio-luminescent fish). – big mistake. Before sunset we motored to a great little cove with at least a dozen boats, huge crowd stirring up sand, spoiling the “amazingly clear water) and occluding the view of spectacular coral (and fish). The redeeming feature: a 5 or 6 foot long sea snake, striped electric blue and purple, lying on a coral formation. We then motored out to a place with a good view of a so-so sunset. Even though the sun sank into a bank of clouds, it was a pleasant quiet interlude. Then we proceeded to the “main attraction,” another little cove, already 15 boats there and more coming, maybe 100 tourists in all. Once it was fully dark, we were invited to get in the water to see the bio-luminscent fish. (Kind of piscene fireflies.) I almost said no, but here I was, so I went through with it. The place is obviously famous; it can't possibly be the only cove here with the fish version of fire-flies but it's where everybody goes - 15 or 16 boat-loads; I saw one flash I'm sure was a fish, two maybes, mostly 100 legs, arms, and butts, lots of flashlights and boat lights. It was probably a 5 star attraction 50 years ago, in a less populated era. Zero stars now. Maybe in off-season it would be okay, otherwise it was a waste of an otherwise pleasant evening – and $100. I’m sure back when the place wasn’t crawling with tourists this was probably a magical experience. Now it’s the stuff of travel nightmares. Do not go!
