Excellent, welcoming spot to explore the llanos - especially great for birders!

点评：We had a fabulous 4-day stay at Hato El Boral late January, with the focus on birding. Our hosts, Don Hugo and Olga, and the staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The food was very good, especially the family-style lunches; very fresh ingredients were used, and it was wonderful to eat outside.
It's a beautiful, expansive property, with gorgeous sunrise and sunset views, located less than two hours from the airport at Yopal. It is a working cattle and horse ranch. The rooms are simple, but very comfortable, spacious, and clean. Each has a private outdoor bathroom with a shower, which was very refreshing in the hot climate. WIFI was good.
They work with an excellent local birding guide Fabian Cano Figueroa. He and a Hato El Boral naturalist, Harold, accompanied us on our birding walks and excursions on and near the property. Because it is close to the foothills, we also spent one day birding in the foothills. In just a few days we saw around 140 different specieis, including the elusive Zigzag Heron!
I would very highly recommend this property. It was a highlight of our trip!
