点评:We had a good time with our family regardless. They have a pretty busy shop with baked goods that are pretty ok. They have the usual apple cider donuts (they are hidden in the corner), caramel apples, veggies and fruits, tons of fudge and popcorn. The popcorn was stale though and we bought 2 bags. Pies are around $17 plus tax.
There are pumpkins to buy next to the Ale House. This is the area that needs more to do while waiting for the tractor, maybe a small trail? If you want to pick your own pumpkin in the field, it is $5 per person to ride the tractor out to the field. Five large pumpkins cost $75. I was told I was lucky bc they are $20 each inside. I thought to myself, “they are $6 at shoprite” but we’re making memories right. So 5 kids cost $125(the trailer ride plus 5 pumpkins) to pick their own pumpkin. The “farmers” who drive the tractor are very nice and the kids liked them a lot. Don’t hold your pumpkin from the stem, people.
The Ale house is cool, but small for the crowd that was there. We didn’t get to spend much time bc we had the kids, but we managed a 9$ draft hard cider and you can do a tasting there for $12. They also have a $6 draft cider. I feel like an espresso bar would be better, all the pumpkin spice lattes for moms with kids. Anyway, if you want to pick apples you have to drive down the road a half mile. Big bags(those large red netted bags) are $30 and small bags(plastic clear bag the size of a shopping bag) are $20.
8 chicken wings are $16. The fries are $8 and very good. We got a pizzette for $18. It’s about the 1/3 of a normal pizza size and it was not good. So feed the kids before you go. Also people friendly yellow jackets everywhere and on everything. Just don’t step on one and they don’t hurt you. Porta potties are the only bathroom option, except for 2 well-guarded stalls in the Ale House.
All in all, expensive but we all had fun. I understand that after COVID they need to nickel and dime everyone, but it is a bit disconcerting for those who have always come and paid their way. Also the staff acts like they are a little annoyed that people are there but I understand that too. Next time we will try one farther away in hopes that there is a orchard that still has that Fall NY farm charm that is so alluring.
