Pleasant place to spend a few hours
Scarborough Cricket Club的点评
点评：With a ticket booked to see my first ever professional cricket match at Chelmsford in a few weeks, (T20 Vitalist Blast), I thought I'd better come and have a warm up.
It was Yorkshire 2nd XI v Durham at Scarborough's compact ground. Watched by a 'crowd' of at least 30! No chanting, drunken revelry or loudspeaker announcement. Just peace and quiet apart from the thwack of leather on willow.
The bonus for me was that there was absolutely no charge and you could hear every word out on the field. Which was a lot more than I realised. Sitting side on to the wicket, the speed of the fast bowlers was scarily quick.
I could have ventured into any of the stands with proper seats, but the wooden benches just inside the ground were perfect on a warm early summer/late spring day.
A very pleasant way to spend a few hours.
