Chester Racecourse的点评
点评：Similar to a lot of recent reviews, I (along with my father) suffered a poor experience attending the so called Family Fun Day.
To their credit, Chester sure do lead the way as regards innovation. Whether that be Dynamic pricing, Dress Code or extortionate Drink prices.
I've read a review saying someone paid over £40 for entry this Sunday gone. I realise courses have early bird rates, but charging over 1.5x prices from a couple of months ago seems to be exploiting the many who will choose to attend on the day.
Then you have the elitist Dress code. As others have pointed out, what is wrong with a smart pair of tailored shorts in the height of summer? If people want to wear suits etc there is the County enclosure for that. Chester are the only racecourse that see fit to have an out of date dress code for the Tattersalls or Grandstand equivalent enclosure.
And don't get me started on the one pound non refundable charge for a plastic cup. Where does this money go to? And why aren't you allowed to keep said cup? You get charged one pound and are forced to return it! Plus it's £8.25 for a pint of Ale, which is really £9.25 seeing as you'll be forced to pay for the cup. There cannot be a more expensive pint on an UK racecourse.
Other issues include lack of seating and confusing entry with your ticket telling you one thing and signs another. Plus the staff I dealt with were abrupt and not at all friendly.
All in all, a thoroughly dreadful experience and we won't be back, which is a shame, as it should be one of the best in the country. And despite requesting contact details for management to pass on some constructive criticism, I'm still waiting...
