10. Angie and her family have owned Baja Discovery for decades and scrutinize every detail with great care.
9. Just getting to camp is an experience in itself. Views from the chartered planes were breathtaking!
8. The camp is in the BEST location-next to the whale watch zone. No camp is closer!
7. Only camp in the bay that is 100% ecofriendly. When the season ends the entire camp is disassembled with only the seashells remaining.
6. Comfortable beds/tents, solar showers and peaceful silence to hear the whales breath at night.
5. The staff is hired locally giving the fisherman/families a source of income when fishing season is closed in San Ignacia Bay. They treated us like family.
4. Exceptional food that was authentic and delicious. Handmade tamales, fresh caught oysters, fish tacos on locally made tortillas and blue crab from the bay in our salad! They will cater to everyone's dietary needs.
3. Kayaking in the mangroves and seeing puffer fish, sting rays and many bird species. Tide pool walks with naturalists where we saw tiny octopi, hermit crabs and other micro creatures.

1. Most importantly the beautiful grey whales! This may be the only place in the world where you can touch a whale and even its baby if you're lucky. It is a lifechanging experience that I hope to return to again and again!
