An unexpected treat, the simulator experience is a must!

点评：The Spitfire and Hurricane Memorial Museum was a very pleasant surprise. I didn’t go in expecting very much from a free museum, but it genuinely exceeded my expectations.
The exhibits are well presented and clearly focused on telling the story of the Spitfire, Hurricane and the people who flew and supported them during the Second World War. The displays are thoughtful, informative and well laid out, giving visitors a real sense of the aircraft and their role in the air war without feeling overwhelming.
A particular highlight was the authentic Lancaster cockpit section and the Spitfire simulator, which adds an engaging interactive element to the visit. The chargeable simulator experience was made even better by the instructor, David, an ex-RAF Vulcan pilot, whose knowledge and enthusiasm really enhanced the experience.
Outside, the memorial garden is a peaceful and well-maintained space for reflection, and the small bookshop is well worth a look, offering a good selection of aviation and history titles.
Overall, this is an excellent museum that clearly knows what story it wants to tell. It is well worth a visit and represents exceptional value for a free attraction. A fitting tribute to the aircraft and the people it commemorates.
