Lincoln has sadly removed itself from our "Wish to visit" list!!
RAF Scampton Heritage Centre的点评
点评：We fell in love with Lincoln when we visited earlier this year. We planned to return in our self contained Motorhome in mid December to visit the Cathedral and the city's Christmas market. Lincoln's authorities have since announced that the Christmas market will not go ahead for health & safety reasons, and that overnight stays in the Lawns car park will be banned from the end of November. Surely a short sighted decision? We would have spent a not inconsiderable amount of money in the markets, restaurants/coffee shops and the wonderful independent shops of Lincoln as well as the charge for the cathedral tour.
To add insult to injury it appears that RAF Scampton is no longer accessible to the general public, so we would have been unable to visit the heritage site and pay respects to the wonderful people involved in 617 Squadron. We emailed the heritage centre as the web site did suggest you could book a visit; we did not get a response.
