点评：⭐ Disappointing Visit – Pirate Pool Slide Never Opened
I took my children to the 4:00–5:00pm pirate pool session today. We usually visit a pool much closer to home, but we travelled 45 minutes from Thorney because my kids love the pirate ship and the big slide.
Unfortunately, the slide never opened during our session. My daughter asked a lifeguard at 4:00pm when it would be available and was told “about 20 minutes.” At 4:25, another lifeguard said “10 minutes.” By 4:40, I asked again and was told they weren’t sure when it would open because someone was doing water testing.
The staff member carrying out the testing didn’t seem to be in any hurry and was chatting to colleagues rather than working quickly to get things ready. While this might not seem important to staff, it was incredibly disappointing for children who had been excited all day and had travelled a long way to enjoy the slide.
I would really urge the lifeguard team to take a more child-centred approach when making decisions about the pool’s operation. For us, the visit was a let-down.
It didn’t help that I was grumpy from the soaking changing room floor, cold water and awful showers. Won’t go back!
