From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and could immediately feel the passion and deep knowledge the family has for their land, animals, and traditions. The highlight, of course, was watching the incredible Border Collies at work — expertly herding the Connemara Blackface sheep with such precision and intelligence. It's truly amazing to see the bond between the dogs and their handler, and how skilled and responsive the dogs are.
We learned so much about traditional sheep farming in Ireland, the role of working dogs in hill farming, and the unique qualities of the local sheep breed. The demonstration was not only fascinating but also filled with humour and charm — suitable for all ages and interests.
The views from the farm are breathtaking, offering panoramic scenery of the surrounding mountains and lakes — it’s worth a visit for the views alone!
