点评:This beautiful oasis is worth your time if you have an interest in hiking, nature, peaceful surroundings and/or plants. Entrance to the gardens, the visitors center and the geology museum are all free. Paid group tours can be arranged in advance. Our group enjoyed the Overview Tour because our guide did a great job of introducing us to the plants, history, and fauna in the various gardens. She also shared some insight into the many volunteers whose work and contributions make the gardens thrive.
There are numerous walking paths, be it through the Butterfly, Hosta, Desert, Jurassic, Caboose, Duck Pond Garden, or one of the many others. Some paths are bricked, and with some effort, can be wheelchair or walker accessible if the pusher or walker is fit enough, and if you're comfortable navigating some bumps, ridges, and hills. I pushed a wheelchair. Some gardens also have placers to sit and soak in the surrounding scenery.
One can also enjoy the gardens by driving through the paved roads that wind throughout. We were there in the late morning on a Thursday, and were able to drive through at about 5-mph, only needing to pull over a few times to let others pass. I'm no gardener, and my yard is where healthy things often come to die, but I really enjoyed visiting and learning about the gardens. I especially enjoyed the beauty and peacefulness of the place. Maybe you will too.
