点评:I was excited to learn something interesting about Stonewall Jackson and the Civil War period. However the “tour” was only about the house. It was accessed through a QR code and then videos would play about each room. We started in the garden and the video started with informing us that since there were no Krogers or Food Lions in the 1850’s it was necessary to have a kitchen garden. Then the video went on to list multiple vegetables. I was trying to remain optimistic but then we got to the kitchen and slavery. The video sounded upbeat about the kitchen as a place for the slaves to “relax” in the evenings. And then we saw the pallet on the floor for sleeping. And we were told how restrictive it was for them to go into town. Meanwhile by the time we reached the bedroom, we were told that Stonewall liked to jump out and scare his wife to keep her on her toes. The cost was $30 for 3 people. Wish I had my $30 back!
