点评:This was the second place our driver took as to as we were not happy with the first shop. We were wanting to purchase a Ceylon sapphire. We did the tour of the moonstone mine - yes it is set up for tourists but how else will you see how the gems are mined. It is not as if they will take you to an actual working mine - be realistic tourists. Enjoy the ' recreated version". After that we went to the store "Cinnamon and Moonstone" (Wathudura Nandasiri - Proprietor). It was very well lit and organised. Our first thought was - this is going to be expensive. And it was. But with good bargaining skills we found a ring we liked and a stone that was what we were after and negotiated a price we were happy with. The prices in Sri Lanka were more than what we had negotiated in India - but still a lot less that at home. Our ring (sapphire 0.75ct on white gold band) which we paid $1000aud has been valued back in Australia for $3600. Be aware of what the prices back home are and negotiate around that knowledge.
