Must-see historical site, great view of coast from castle lookout. Rich history of site needs more explanatory panels

点评：Much improved ancient castle historic site is definitely worth a visit. The rich history of conquest and control of this key elevated point helps build understanding of past for history buffs and those with a casual interest in the historical dimensions of this long-settled area. View of coast is excellent from outlook bastion complete with cannons.
A good explanation of the site’s history, including terse mention of battles, is on a hard to read panel near entrance, with Spanish on one side and English on the other. There are also terse signs around site indicating the ruins of a chapel and other buildings. More detailed explanations would be much appreciated. In public interior area just inside entrance, there is a model of the castle as it was.
More bilingual historical panels in English and Spanish would help deepen visitors’ knowledge of this excellent site. Woman at desk was bilingual and helpful. She explained where another historical site (Roman) is located nearby.
Note to management: Free admission should be kept free as tourists spend money nearby. A survey to fill out asks this question along with asking how the castle site can be improved. What about a guided tour once a day? Or an audio guided tour you can listen to on your smartphone as you walk around?
