点评：The Thielska Galerie is not to be missed on a visit to Stockholm. This stately home in the beautiful royal game park houses a magnificent private collection of French and Scandinavian art.
Ernst Thiel had impeccable taste as an art collector. It was extraordinary to encounter art of this caliber we had never seen before. Swedish artist Eugene Janssen is prominently featured. His hypnotic blue studies of street lights have been compared to Frederic Chopin's Nocturne. His portraits of his mother evoke Old Masters.
The museum also has paintings by Edvard Munch, Gauguin, Carl Larsen and more as well as Nietsches death mask. Every room is a marvel, just waiting to be discovered.
After visiting the art, take a walk to the nearby lake to see great blue herons. This lovely museum is easily accessible by both ferry and bus. One of the more enjoyable afternoons you will ever spend.
