点评:After being on the waiting list for the red panda experience, we got our slot and all I can say is wow! Firstly walking around the park before the experience and reading the stories of the birds and why they are there, for example coming from the RSPCA after a house rescue, seeing the amazing work the park are doing to keep birds safe and educating people. I met Max the cockatoo who surprised me by saying hello, an eagle rescued from a house in Birmingham amongst some stunning birds. What this place is doing and the work they do to provide a sanctuary for all birds is truly amazing. The walk through areas were closed due to the break out in bird flu but this did not deprive from the experience walking around, you just didn’t have any land on you and the flamingos are away safe. Seeing the concentration of staff of the safety and welfare of their animals was truly something to admire.
Now onto the experience…
Again wow, speechless. My mum and I have done varying animal experiences through the years and this is truly up there. The keepers were full of knowledge and were chatting the whole time giving facts and information as well as answering any questions we had. The overall experience was around 30 minutes and unlike most experiences you spent the entire time feeding the red pandas. We sat on some carpet sheets in the enclosure and given the Mat and food and the red pandas came and went as they pleased through the whole experience. Coming down to eat then going away and cleaning themselves then coming back down for some more. The natural interaction was not forced by the keepers but was full of opportunities to stroke and feed them. Plenty of photo opportunities too! A truly wholesome experience and one of the best we have had. The contribution made to the red panda network, when purchasing this experience, and learning about what that means and the way it helps to keep this endangered animal around was truly moving.
Paradise park is completely self funded, despite taking in rescues from charities such as the RSPCA they receive no funding. Seeing everything they are achieving from their admission and experience sales is astonishing. Please consider going here and supporting the work they do because as you walk around and read the stories, this place needs to exist. Having a small business achieving such amazing things is truly something to admire and support. Honestly a lovely day and an amazing experience.
