点评:We’ve lived here for years without visiting and had this in our bucket list. Finally got there. It’s nice that it’s open for tours on Sunday. We bought the tickets same day online. Was a little surprised at the price $72 for 2 adults and a student for the 70 minute tour. We easily parked right across the street, for free. They welcomed us when we arrived, organized us in front the the movie, started that with a brief intro and then got us into our respective groups. All was well organized and welcoming.
They made sure to tell us no photos but they never said no devices. Our teen was told by the docent to get off her device. While I understand the sentiment, she was of no distraction to anyone as volume was off and she was keeping quiet to herself. I was just happy she had chosen to come with us and had no issue whether she chose to pay attention or not.
Anyway, otherwise the docent was insightful and engaging, sharing many knowledgeable facts and obviously deeply caring for the home. I would never choose to live there but I enjoyed hearing about the architectural choices. Though I do have my doubts about the supposed equality of the staff.
