点评:An ATV trip with Jungle ATV has become sort of a tradition with our family when we visit our villas in Dominical. While some people may not consider ATVs to be part of the "close to nature" aspect of the Southern Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, they are a common way to get up into the mountains on the dirt and rock roads. Seven of us departed the Jungle ATV headquarters in Uvita and began the steep climb up into the clouds at the summit. We'd rented two of the higher performance two-seaters, and three of the single seat quads. Each had its advantages, but everyone got great scenic views and an appreciation of the lush countryside. At the summit we were lucky to be able to look down into the valley where the Central American Highway runs, near San Isidro de General, and also to the ocean where the famous Uvita Whale's Tale juts out into the Pacific.
While the vehicles run about $150 per person (less if you have two or four person models), the trip takes 5+ hours and includes snacks, a trip to the local coffee plantation, and a great selection of fruit. Everyone decided that this will continue to be an annual event. Don't think you need to do it solo so you can get the driving experience; passengers seemed to enjoy it as much as drivers. However, their eyes were closed for some of the more extreme parts...
