One of the best snorkeling experiences in the Bahamas

点评：One of the best places I've ever snorkeled, especially considering value for money. It's about a 30 min. taxi ride from the cruise ship landing. I was worried about getting a taxi back from the cove, but the system was more intricate and better than I expected. You're given a roundtrip price at the landing by a coordinator (for 3 people, it was $100). When we got to Paradise Cove, the taxi driver walked us up to the front desk where they took down his name, taxi number, and phone number. We gave him a time to return but could also have changed it by asking the front desk to call him. He actually arrived 30 minutes before the time we asked and waited for us, so no concern about not getting back to the ship on time.
Paradise was only $7 per person entry, and being some distance from the cruise, there were just enough people there to make it feel legit and safe (maybe 20 other tourists), but not so many where it felt crowded. There were even empty tables where we could sit, ostensibly for people who ordered food, but no one stopped us because there was plenty of empty space. There was equipment rental (snorkel, mask, even floatation belt) and food for sale. The beach, unlike other places in Bahamas, was clean, albeit small. This is a place to snorkel, not sit on the beach.
The water was a gorgeous blue green, and we saw about 7-8 giant turtles eating sea grass. The only other place where I had this experience was in Mexico where they charged $100 per person to be guided into a section of the ocean to see turtles. This was a complete bargain, with much more freedom of movement. We also saw gulf flounder and a ton of fish.
