Caerhays Castle的点评
点评：We have tried to visit Caerhays before, but it was closed, I believe the last day of June is when it closes, so our Summer visits were fruitless. This time we went on a beautiful Sunday at the end of April. We parked in the beach car park and I tried to pay the fee £4.00 but the first machine turned down both my cards, The second machine was more obliging and accepted my payment. We were then informed by a passerby that garden visitors did not have to pay there, as parking was included in the gardens fee. Oops!
Thus we set off on the long walk uphill to the castle. The lady at the office was able to reduce the entrance fee on seeing proof that I had already paid for the car park. We firstly went to the cafe for Coronation Chicken sandwiches & coffee in the courtyard.
The walk uphill through the woodland & shrubland was a delight, offering occasional vistas to the coast. The lack of formal pathways and pavements was interesting and acceptable. We were blessed with beautiful grounds on a wonderful day. Highly recommended.
