Stunning views of Oxford from St Mary's Church

点评：I've visited St Mary's before but didn't have the opportunity to climb the tower. So, I was pleased that I had a few minutes to spare during my last visit to Oxford.
There are a lot of steps 127 to be precise, some of which are quite steep and narrow. so it isn't a totally easy climb. Space is at a minimum when you get to the top and there is only one way up and one way down. It's rather up close and personal, but I did meet some lovely people from the Netherlands and Germany.
Is it worth it for the view? Absolutely, on a sunny day! The views from the tower are fantastic. Looking down at the Radcliffe Camera will remain in my memory for some time.
Entry to St Mary's is free (donations welcome), but the tower ascent costs £6. I thought that was a bargain. The staff on duty monitor the number of visitors climbing the tower which is absolutely essential to avoid overcrowding so you may have to queue at busy times.
Don't forget your camera!
