Wildeperdehoek Pass: 4x4 advertised, Ford Bantam approved!

点评：We travelled from Springbok to Hondeklipbaai via the Wildeperdehoek Pass, and the views were absolutely amazing!
Unfortunately, there weren’t many flowers around due to a hot wind they experienced a couple of weeks ago, but the scenery was still spectacular and definitely made the drive worthwhile.
The route is advertised as a 4x4 route, but our champion little Ford Bantam handled it with no issues! 💪🏽 So don’t let the 4x4 description put you off if you have a capable vehicle and take it easy.
Some sections of the road are surprisingly smooth where you hardly even feel the road, while other sections are quite badly corrugated. Make sure you deflate your tyres before tackling the route — it makes a noticeable difference.
One thing worth noting: locals from Koingnaas confirmed that the road is unfortunately not being maintained, so conditions can change and you should be prepared for some rough sections.
Take your time, enjoy the scenery, and keep your eyes open — it’s a beautiful part of the Northern Cape!
