Pretty zoo, with a good selection of animals

点评：The zoo is right across the street from the main train station, so that makes it really convenient if you travel by train. Just be sure to watch for trams when you cross the street.
The centerpiece of the zoo is a small lake, which was beautiful. There were several different kinds of birds and water fowl. The boats had already quit running for the year (late October). Besides walking around the lake, I also really enjoyed walking through the alley of large trees. Very picturesque and peaceful.
There aren’t dozens and dozens of animal species here, but what they do have is really interesting, and the animal enclosures are fortunately decently sized. I was disappointed not to see the polar bear, but I did get to see the hippo and the red panda. The red panda was climbing up a tree, so that was fun to see. And the hippo enclosure is built so zoo goers can stand on a bridge over the hippo pool. Another highlight was the indoor jungle, which had free roaming monkeys! You can’t touch them for obvious reasons, but they will jump and run right next to you.
There were a few food stands open in late October: a crepe place, a ravioli stand, and one or two others.
Restrooms were really clean, and there were several of them.
The zoo paths are nicely paved. It’s mostly flat except one small section with a hill .
