Beautiful City Lake with Beaches, Boating and Biking

点评：This is the largest of the lakes that comprise the Chain of Lakes in Minneapolis. It is surrounded by several beaches and park space and provides for a beautiful setting. The lake is large enough for small sailboats but you can also rent kayaks at the northeast corner of the lake. After kayaking out on this lake, you can go under the bridge and kayak on the more peaceful Lake of the Isles. There is also a one way paved bike path around the lake and the trail connects to all of the other nearby lakes making for an enjoyable ride. There is a new complex built at the northeast corner of the lake where you can grab a beer or some food and sit inside or on an outdoor terrace overlooking the lake. There are also restrooms available. There is a metered parking lot at the north end of the lake. The views of downtown Minneapolis from the west side of the lake are iconic and I’m always amazed how much nature can be experienced here in the middle of a busy urban area.
