点评:We visited in November 2025. It's relatively okay to find but bear in mind that there are steps down to the entrance no matter which route you take - you should eventually find a tunnel which has the entrance inside.
You leave rucksacks / backpacks etc in a locker after paying for your ticket. As usual, the staff were really helpful and spoke perfect English. There's also a video you can watch by the cloakroom. From there, you then wander around the old War Rooms and read the displays, hear stories from local perspectives of how the site was used during various conflicts.
Even though it's underground, it's a fairly spacious site, so even those with some claustrophobia should be okay (by comparison, the Churchill War Rooms in London are really cramped). This also meant it didn't feel crowded with people, albeit there were plenty of others there.
I took about an hour to see what I wanted to - you could easily spend longer if needed, or shorter if you just focus on some of the main bits. The displays are very informative and from what the other reviewers have said, the guided tours sound like the best way to get the max from the experience. Overall, definitely recommended if military history is your thing.
