点评:At the visitor centre in town, it was recommended that I visit Polly Mc Quinns... and the lady in there told me an unusual tale. There is a bit of folklore locally about how this waterhole got it's name. There was a gentleman who lived nearby whose name was Polly... well they called him such because he could not grow a beard. Apparently Polly drove his wagon and a team of horses into the waterhole accidentally before the bridge was built in an attempt to cross the waterway. The rumour is that the waterhole is 9 metres deep and that all of the horses perished during the incident.
From a sad tale like this comes this amazing place. This place is one of Euroa's five water storages. The area is literally roadside... there are no amenities to speak of... just a couple of tables and information boards at the site. This has to be one of the most interesting hidden treasures I have found roadside...which it literally is... in the state.
I walked around here for quite awhile... it is exceptionally beautiful.
