点评：I recently visited American girl place and cafe for my six year old daughter’s birthday. First and foremost I want to give a big shoutout to the cafe for making my daughter’s birthday so special! The birthday package that includes the birthday cake (from Deerfield bakery) was amazing! The food and pink lemonade was amazing. My daughter and I were brought to tears by the excellent service and care given by the cafe staff. My daughter also had an appointment with a personal shopper and that was fun too. The personal shopper was kind and gavr my daughter a personalized touch to feeling special on her big day. The only negative we experienced was at the salon. My daughter could not decide on which American girl doll she wanted to buy and she brought her 18 inch doll purchased from a competitor to her cafe experience. After lunch she wanted to get her nails and hair done and the doll’s nails and hair done. But when we arrived at the salon, she was told that because she did not have an American girl doll the services were not possible for the doll. I felt so bad for her in that moment. Just felt in that moment that this particular situation could have been handled in a more sensitive way. I don’t remember being advised by American girl prior to the appointment that this was the rule. Perhaps I missed the memo… but still to say that in front of my daughter I had to do some damage control after this rejection. If it had not been for the other great experiences earlier that day, this situation at the salon would have ruined our outing. And I would not do the salon ever again even once she selects her American girl doll. The salon might want to consider how to be more sensitive and how to respond to customers if this situation presents itself again.
