Picturesque Road Running Through Lower Slaughter

点评：This is one of two picturesque roads that run through the tiny Cotswold village of Lower Slaughter. Becky Hill Rd runs alongside the River Eye. More a stream than a river, this very pretty waterway has little stone bridges, ducks, and overhanging trees, and is lined with charming honey-coloured, stone cottages. We strolled along the road, walking past the old Slaughter Village Hall, the ancient town well, and the old water-mill. You could be walking through a Jane Austen novel.
The Slaughter Country Inn is also on Becky Hill Rd and, if like us, you are passing through Lower Slaughter on the walking trail between Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water, then the Inn is a lovely place to stop for a drink. Tables and chairs are set outside on an expansive green lawn that stretches down to the running water. On a warm summer’s day, it’s idyllic.
We only walked the short stretch of Becky Hill Rd that runs alongside the river and then we resumed our walk towards Bourton-on-the-Water.
