Beautiful venue and great tour, but the cafe needs work.

点评：We visited the House of Dun on a beautiful, sunny day (unusual for Scotland!!) and had a wonderful time exploring the venue. The walled garden was stunning. The lady who welcomed us at the shop was wonderful, taking time to explain all we needed to know. A huge highlight was our tour guide, Mr. Colin Young, who was incredibly funny, interesting, and made the history come alive. The gift of the old penny at the end of the tour was a lovely, memorable touch!
I was worried about the tour as I struggle with standing for too long, this was easily resolved as Colin shared that there were foldable seats available. I was so happy with this as it was something that was on my mind as we approached the house.
The shop had some gorgeous items and we visited when there were a range of pop up artists in the cottages which was fabulous.
The only downside to our visit was the cafe. It was quite disappointing—there weren’t enough tables outside to enjoy the weather, and the staff seemed to be in a bit of chaos. We ended up waiting almost 30 minutes just for two coffees (which were mostly froth).
Overall, the house, gardens and the tour are absolutely worth the visit (especially if you happen to have Colin as your guide!), but there is
definitely room for improvement as far as the cafe is concerned.
