Beautiful estate and very welcoming staff!

点评：I would start off by emphasizing how welcoming the staff were! Every single person we interacted with was lovely. We only paid for the self-guided tour, but the docents were happy to share anecdotes in each of the rooms as we passed through-very generous with their knowledge. I have toured other historical homes where I did not pay for a guided tour either and found the staff to completely ignore me. That is not the case at Stan Hywett!
So much of the manor is original. If you are a fan of tutor architecture, this is absolutely the place for you. The conservatory was pretty. PS the conservatory is an excellent place to use the restroom. The children’s garden was interactive and the English garden made me feel like I was in “The Secret Garden”. Unfortunately, the heat of the day got the better of us, so we did not tour the lagoon or the Japanese garden. I cannot wait to go back!
I also thought the prices in the gift shop were fair compared to other places I have been. I appreciate that they had smaller, affordable items for children. They also offered my child a scavenger hunt to do in the house and received a little prize for participating.
