点评:I’ve been to Beeland a few times primarily to get coffee. I usually buy a jar of honey and a couple of other small items while there.
During this visit there was a strange older guy dressed in a Batman-style cape working there. We ordered coffees… an Americano and a Latte. The gentleman snapped and said he does not serve Americanos, he serves Canadianos. Seriously? I know a lot of Canadians are becoming increasingly more patriotic recently. However, snapping at customers who just want a cup of coffee is unseemly, ignorant and not very business-savvy. There is no need to reprimand customers that are unaware of a juvenile, politically-motivated product name change.
Coffees came in various sizes. For some reason, they do not offer “Canadianos” in the 16 oz. size (the largest was a 12 oz). We asked the gentleman there if he could please make a 16 oz, and we would pay extra. Apparently this was a huge ask! He did agree to make the Canadiano in the 16 oz size and when we went to pay he charged us the equivalent cost of two 12 oz Canadianos!!!
There are some nice products in the shop, but the prices are extortionate - $28 for a small jar of honey, $48 for four small individual meat pies, etc. I was actually laughing at some of the prices because I couldn't believe it.
I decided that this will be my last visit to Beeland. It just isn’t a very positive experience. I don’t appreciate being ripped off and I won’t patronize a business that doesn’t respect customers.
