点评：We did the Spencer Glacier float. The train ride down to Spencer was nice despite rainy weather (can’t control that) other than a very rude group that took over the viewing car and stayed there almost the entire trip and didn’t allow others a chance to view from the elevated area. Train staff couldn’t care less. Once that group departed at Whittier others were able to use the viewing area. The float staff suited us with boots while on the train (fair warning I am a wide calf the boots were not but I was still able to wear them enough to keep my feet dry).
The float itself was great. Everyone got bussed from the train stop and suited up efficiently with PFD though they ran out of ponchos for everyone. Fortunately the rain had cleared and the ponchos were a nicety but not necessity. Our float boat guide was Jack and he was very friendly and knowledgeable about the river and made us feel comfortable. The view of the ice flows were beautiful and during the float we tried to spot wildlife. The “snack” on the river of tea and cocoa was great to warm us up. The exit from the river and boarding back on the train went smooth. I would recommend this tour to other visitors.
