Brown's Canyon Rafting - 3 day multi-trip

点评：Booked a 3 day multi-trip down Brown's Canyon as a family (2 adults and 3 children - 14, 12 & 8 yo) on vacation across from Scotland. We had wanted to take a trip that was different to our normal holidays and something that everyone would enjoy and remember at that age. This did not disappoint. From booking the trip, the help and information we received from The Adventure Company staff was great and allowed us to determine this was what we were looking for as well as help with what we require and the kit they could supply and rent. This was useful as since travelling as a family, allowed us to reduce the amount of luggage we carry for the remainder of the holiday.
On arrival, we were met with very helpful staff who checked we had everything we needed, anything we required then sent up to get organised and meet our guides. Everything was well explained and got all our equipment packed in individual dry bags which were more than sufficient in size then onto the transport to the launch location. Informative safety brief and command instructions then on our way.
The trip itself was amazing and unforgettable. The river and scenery has to be experienced and the camping aspect just allowed you to experience the whole area over a more proper length of time as well as spend time on the riverside in very different locations, both for camping as well as food stops.
Our guides, Ross and June were incredible both with their experience and the info they could provide on the rafting, river as well as general surroundings, history, wildlife, etc. They both really made the difference to an already brilliant trip. A couple of points worth mentioning that weren't fully clear to us at the start was that you don't just have a raft. You have your raft and guide but also have the gear boat following further behind that brings everything you could possibly need including full field kitchen, bathroom facilities including hot camp shower if you wish and more food than you'll ever need. This is because they choose their campsites on the way down and they are not accessible by road at all so you really have that proper wilderness feeling. I believe other rafting companies choose drive-in campgrounds to supply your gear - the seclusion here really made the difference to the trip and felt quite special.
Another point to note is the quality and choice of the food and meals from our guides Ross and June. They really pulled out all the stops, from fresh fajitas by the riverside for first lunch, to steak/shrimp/veggie kebabs in the evening, breakfast omelette, fresh French Toast with fruit, syrup, etc and fresh lasagne baked in a Dutch Oven by the riverside - difficult to explain how good the food was other than you certainly do not need to bring anything really other than any sodas, etc you might want. All our snacks we brought still remained in the bag by the end and were nowhere near as nice as what we were supplied with.
The river and rapids are fantastic and really lived up to expectations. There was enough paddling involved that you felt like a proper part of the trip and not just a passenger. Our guides got us fully involved and the children haven't used the word "amazing' so often in a long time and really enjoyed being part of the camp set-up and takedown. The company owner takes particular interest in his trips and was involved in the gear boat loading as well as speaking to us personally at the end to find out our thoughts on the trip. The photos available from the company as well were very much appreciated as you are generally too involved with paddling on the rapids to be able to take pictures and are a great record of your trip.
I would highly recommend this trip if you enjoy both rafting and camping and would hope to be able to take another trip with The Adventure Company again in the future. Really enjoyed every part of the trip from the organisation, helpfulness of all the staff from front desk to drivers to guides and the general professionalism and attention to detail. A trip to remember.....
