点评:We have heard about this temple and decided to stop by for a vegetarian lunch first, then visit the famous cherry blossoms in Garry Point Park nearby.
It was such a nice surprise for us to see the Cherry Garden here too!! Although not famous for this, the temple does provide a very unique cherry blossom experience we never enjoyed anywhere else (where there were tons of people elsewhere....). The tranquility, the happy budha, the ponds, all surronded by blossoming pink cherries!
The friendly volunteers showed us the way to the small vegetarian restaurant at the back...You are advised to call to book a table first, since it is so small (max 6-7 tables?), and only open on weekends and only twice a month on full moon day (15th of lunar calendar), and new noon day (first day of lunar calendar). If you really cannot get a table, they have take outs too.
It was a very relaxing leisure stroll after lunch. There is also a farmer's market just outside the temple if you are interested to buy fresh produce since you are in Richmond.
