点评:We were staying at the Hafod Hotel so were lucky enough to have Devil’s Bridge right on our doorstep. As we were up and out early, there was no attendant but access is still available at the turnstiles. We opted for the longer nature trail and this was £4.00.
The walk is beautiful but you do need some level of fitness and suitable footwear. The steps down to the bottom of the gorge (Jacob’s Ladder) are extremely steep. We had a dry day but I would imagine these would be very slippery if it had been raining. There are handrails all the way down but we found some of these were loose.
Once you cross the bridge at the bottom, the ascent begins and involves a lot of stairs however, there are plenty of benches to stop at and have a rest. There is also a viewing platform about half way up right next to the waterfall.
Devil’s Bridge is definitely worth a visit however, if you have really young children with you I would consider doing the shorter Punchbowl walk.
