Worst house/ castle I have ever visited.

点评：Wow where do I start ... booked house tour with carols by the tree £65 per person.
Arrived to be told on site there was no water so no toilet facilities and if we wanted we could leave to drive back miles to a local service station. I understand the water issue was due to the storm but contact / notify guests in advance and offer them the option to rebook.
No tour guide just the odd person standing in the corner of a room which you had to approach if you had any questions. Laminated cards to read stuck in boxes with info about pieces of interest in each room.
Tour unguided takes about 15 mins.
I kept asking when were the carols starting - no choir due to storm and no one seemed know the timings. We had been shuffled out tot he gift shop to lift a book and told there was mulled wine and mince pies being served in the wet courtyard. Must to our dismay we were charged £16 for two hald plastic cups of acidic mulled wine and two mince pies. Back to the house as the carols were to start - these are in the salon with the main tree which has no entry so you need to go back around the house and hope to get a spot over the balcony.
No photos or videos at all instead the house which was disappointing - even if they chose the staircase and the christmas tree to allow the paying patrons to have a keepsake it would be better than nothing.
