点评:Atmospheric tour. We did aThursday tour. Just as we arrived in the dark the church bells began to ring, adding to the spooky experience. We headed for the lights leading to the meeting point. It was reassuring to be met by a guide and shown the way to the kitchen. In the kitchen we were offered mulled cider, tea or a coffee and chatted while waiting for everyone to arrive. While chatting someone was sure the heard something that sounded like the kitchen pans being moved and the last person to arrive said his had seen the figure of a woman dressed like a servant in the past.
The evening began learning about the ancient history of the site. Then we heard about facts and tales of Dando the notorious priest who is said to haunt the area. Our time in the kitchen finished hearing people’s stories of their experiences in the house. When it was time to visit the tunnels we were all given torches. Coco our guide pointed out lots of things in the tunnels as we walked around making the whole experience really interesting. We didn’t see anything that we could clearly be identify as a ghost but there did seem to be an irregularly haze at one point and more than one person felt a presence that didn’t like us being there.
Whether you are a serious ghost hunter, just like spooky tales or love hearing about local history this tour is well worth doing
