Shepler's Mackinac Island Ferry的点评
点评：We used the ferry twice, to & from Mackinac Island, while staying at the Hampton Inn in St. Ignace. We were very pleased on both occasions.
The shuttle always picked us up from the hotel as scheduled; and all the drivers were friendly and accommodating. On our return each time, a shuttle immediately returned us to our lodging (since our 2nd trip included a overnight Island stay, we had to retrieve our luggage upon returning to St. Ignace; during which time the waiting shuttle departed with other patrons. Upon arriving at the departure point, one of the staff brought up another vehicle and took us back to our hotel, rather than having us wait for the other shuttle's return).
All the staff we encountered, on land and on the ferries, were helpful and attentive.
Departures were always on time, and the boats themselves were well-maintained (as were all of this operation's facilities), and a pleasure to ride.
The only negative we encountered, was that though we twice scheduled a Mighty Mac departure from St. Ignace, the weather/wind/waves negated that option from being able to occur both times.
Even though this operation is currently a "monopoly "; it is striving to provide its customers with a smooth, efficient and accommodating experience.
Note: on the trip to the Island, the crew offers a $2 guide to the passengers. If one is a 1st time visitor, the information within is useful/thorough/invaluable; and the booklet is probably the best bargain one is likely to find, on or off the the Island.
Also note: as is happening in more & more locations, there is an up-charge for using a card vs cash, when purchasing one's tickets.
