Extremey disappointing experience with Sheplers

点评：After years of loyalty to Sheplers, and fabulous experiences, we had a very disappointing experience Sept. 28 on our return trip from Mackinac Island to St. Ignace. We have always preferred to travel to and from St. Ignace over Mackinaw City due to the smaller crowds and ease of parking and luggage. We were shocked to discover parking is now $75 per night despite most of the lot being empty and the only place this was displayed was in very fine print on the website. We won't be returning to Shelplers for that reason alone as that's just ridiculous. Especially in shoulder seasons. The most upsetting part was being the very first ones in line to board, we handed our luggage to the Sheplers porter on the dock at Mackinac Island, told him where we were heading, they opened the chain and let us through to board. There were a maximum of 20 guests on the ferry. We arrived in St. Ignace to discover our luggage had not made it. Despite only 20 people on the boat they still make everyone go to another building to get their luggage. When we attempted to share our problem and find out what might have happened to it with multiple different Sheplers employees, they really couldn't be bothered and told us not to worry it would be on the next boat arriving in another half an hour. No sorry about that, nothing, just go have a seat and it should be fine. Sunday mornings are just so busy. I literally laughed out loud. There was NO ONE on the boat or the dock. Then they said we needed to make sure we give it to a Sheplers porter next time. I said, um, we did. Lots of excuses, zero customer service. I have been to the Island hundreds of times and there will not be another time for me with your company. If you want to charge exorbitant fees for parking then you better offer top service. McDonald's has friendlier help. Do Better Sheplers!
