点评:A decent enough day out with the family on what was a cold Winters day.
Situated north of Kilmardinny Avenue, we found parking at the Art Centre, but opted for the small area slightly east of the loch. There were a few spaces but I’d imagine you’d be chapping in the height of Summer.
The trail itself was good - very short in length (we were done in one hour and done it slowly, with a stop at the park). The park wasn’t great to be honest - sufficient for a 5-10 minute stop but the kids were a bit bored after that!
The carvings were nothing short of fantastic - a masterpiece of sculpting, which tied in with the surrounding landscape. However, I still feel disappointed that the actual Gruffalo was missing. For me, it takes the edge off the whole story.
Overall, I was ever so slightly underwhelmed. The views were spot on but I’ve definitely experienced better trails. For the kids, no complaints - entertained for an hour with a healthy bit of exercise. Can see the popularity of the area increasing as the sunshine and warm weather shows face.
Feel a 3/5 here justifies the experience - middle of the pack but a worthy visit for families!
